A couple of photos of the ORA Blue Iris Acropora in a 75 Gallon reef tank. The first is show the ORA Blue Iris under actinics only, and the second shows it under 14k metal halides + actinics. The colors under actinics are just silly nice.

Here are a couple of photos of the ORA Blue Iris Acropora provided by crab0000. These were taken in a 65 Gallon AGA RR with an ATI Sunpower 6×54w fixture running 3 ATI Blue Plus and 3 Aquablue Sepcials. This ORA coral frag looks nice and happy in it’s new home. The green and blue really pop with this bulb selection.

Nice to see more variations of the ORA Blue Iris Acropora. This one is the first in a series submitted by StephenInVa. This ORA Blue Iris frag is in a 40 gallon display tank jam packed with so many other ORA corals. Flow is provided by a EcoTech Marine Vortech MP20. A Reef Octopus NW-150 Re-circulating Skimmer is clearly plenty for this setup. A maxi-jet 900 both feeds the skimmer and the phosban reactor running carbon. Calcium and alkalinity are maintained by a Grey Sea Aquatics K1 Kalk Stirrer and two Bulk Reef Supply Dosing Pumps for 2 part. There is much more to come from this tank!!

ORA Blue Iris Mature Colony

Here is a photo of a mature ORA Blue Iris colony under just sunlight!! Now you know it’s a nice coral if it looks like that without artificial light enhancing it. For those of you who wonder, ORA has not determined the scientific name for this coral as it is a difficult task, especially after they have been propagated in captivity for a long time. Another difficulty is presented by the fact that the original collection location is unknown.

ORA Blue Iris Acropora Release

ORA has just released a new captive propagated coral named the Blue Iris. This ORA coral has a green base with blue tips and elongated coralites. This acropora has a very delicate growth pattern similar to the ORA Hawkins Echinata but with longer coralites.
