The ORA Bird of Paradise exhibits similar growth patterns to the ORA Hyacinth Bird’s Nest as well as the ORA Green Bird’s Nest, although you should notice that the branches are substantially thicker. The ORA Bird of Paradise is electric green with amazing metallic purple polyps. ORA also offers a Pink Bird’s Nest. ORA says that they received this coral from a hobbyist in Europe over 6 years ago (I’m adding this coral in 2009). They suggest that it will look it’s best under bulbs with a large blue spectrum. As with many corals, it should be light acclimated starting low in the tank, and then moved up until the optimal spot is identified.
This ORA Bird of Paradise is looking very nice and green in this custom rimless tank. The purple polyps are contrasted by the brilliant green flesh of this ORA coral.
